End of the T-Ball Era

It's over. It's done with. It will never happen again in the Schanz Family.

What is IT?

T-Ball.

All four clovers have played. We've sat through four seasons of everyone gets to bat every inning. Four seasons of everyone gets on base. Four seasons of the last batter gets to run a home run, and everyone gets to play the last batter at least once. And four seasons of "this has to be THE most boring hour of our lives!"

Lol. I remember when Kenna played and I helped coach. I don't think we were as bored with it then, but mostly because it was our first sport for one of our kids to play. We hadn't been introduced to rec or competitive sports yet.

As the years went and the kids got older and into more interesting sports teams, we quickly learned how boring T-Ball was. We even tried to bypass it on Kammie and KJ, but alas, they won't allow you to play coach/machine pitch a year early unless you've played one year of T-Ball.

So we endured. And endured. And finally endured one last season.

KJ loved it. But pretty much because his first best friend, Nathan was on his team. They call each other "first best friend" because they have many other best friends. According to Nathan, he has 108. I'm extremely lucky if I have 108 friends, let alone best friends!

Anyway, we are done with T-Ball forever!

Here are some pics from the season.

My favorite is the one where KJ is talking to Nathan in the outfield. We found out they decided they were not going to let the girl on second base get to third. Hehe!

KJ is number 7 and his friend Nathan is number 10.

We Were Just Fishing

The kids wanted to go fishing. So we loaded up the car, picked up our friend Tyler and went down to grandmas and papas pond.

But first we had to shoot the BB gun.

And then we had to dig up worms.

And then we wanted to take the "scenic" route to the pond.

Finally, we got to fish.

And...We didn't catch anything. But memories were made and stories told and it was still a fun time.  Maybe next time we'll have caught "the big one".  Lol

Here are some pics of our fun evening.

God Bless,

Baseball

Baseball is one of my favorite sports Koen plays.

Maybe it's the boys. Maybe it's the team camaraderie that I love. Or the Awesome baseball moms. It could be the sunshine, or the wind, or the rain, or the heat, or the cold. It could be my persistent need to remove ALL the red dirt out of the white pants. Or maybe it's the Iced tea and sunflower seeds.

Yep. Probably the Iced Tea and Sunflower seeds. :)

Either way it's a favorite.

Well, it's coming to an end next week. Only one more night. Only 2 more games. A doubleheader is all we have left this year.

I'm sorta sad. :(

But then again, Football is up next. And that my friends, is my FAVORITE sport Koen plays!

God Bless!

Bacon!

When you ask your kids what they'd like to have for dinner tonight and the yelled out answer is BACON, then I guess the only thing you can do is give them bacon.

BLT's it is!

Happy kids!

And yes, I let them eat without shirts on. I'm that kind of mom. :)

Kammie playing softball

So softball is in full swing. (We have three games just this week). Kammie is doing great and she loves playing. Tonight she hit a triple, double and a single. She can actually field the ball too! Her team the Mulvane Mudcats has only two wins, but they have improved so much in just the 7 games they have played.

The pics are Kammie playing 3rd base. Kammie batting before hitting a triple. And Kammie after the triple standing on third! Way to go Kammie!

God bless!
